MOG MOG

MUSIC SIGNPOSTS ON THE WEB'S LONELY ROAD

this underrated steely dan classic resonates with me more then any other, me and cathy have been burning a hole in it for 6 months. it is quintessential Dan, with perfect sad yet eloquent lyrics. rediscover it

Felonius my old friend Step on in and let me shake your hand So glad that you're here again For one more time Let your madness run with mine Streets still unseen we'll find somehow No time is better than now

CHORUS: Tell me where are you driving Midnight cruiser Where is your bounty Of fortune and fame I am another Gentlemen loser Drive me to Harlem Or somewhere the same

The world that we used to know People tell me it don't turn no more The places we used to go Familiar faces that ain't smilin' like before The time of our time has come and gone I fear we been waiting too long

they are making a resurgence. i was on hiatus for 10 plus years as i had burned myself out on it and now find myself listening again. not only that, mog headquarters are playing a lot of it. spencer, 21 years old, loves it.

what is it about our current time that is making this music relevent again?

Amazing band. Amazing albums. This one is killer but so is Pretzle Logic and Katy Lied and the Royal Scam... I haven't been able to relate to the comeback albums. All the originals hold up -- even after the music got more MOR... Great lyric!

Steely Dan is an over-hyped pile of garbage. Everyone kisses their ass and calls them innovators, but their music is a disoganized, unentertaining dung heap. They are one of the pile of artists that came out of the greatest era of rock n' roll that get far too much credit. My only hope is that people will wake up and find that there is far better music ringing all around them and that we can all get that crap out of our minds. I hope I die before I get old.
