Jimi Hendrix Experience drummer Mitch Mitchell has died at the age of 62. He was on the final leg of an Experience tour in the US and passed away in his hotel room.
With his passing there are no remaining original members of the band alive; original manager Chas Chandler is also dead. Is this the first ‘60s band where every member is dead? (I don’t include Billy Cox, etc. as being part of the Experience.)

Apparently the US completely missed out on French disco group Ottawan. I can't say I blame us but man if I cannot get their songs out of my head I'm going to freak out. It's craziness! They were fronted by Jean Patrick and Annette. They put out two albums. One in 1979 and the other in 1981. That's right folks, amidst the post-Thanksgiving madness, PopSense has declared "Pilgramism" a word. Such methods are an excellent means of solidifying one's badassity. Today was a library day for me, and that meant getting some new music to listen to over the course of the next two weeks. I like going to the library because I can pick out cd's based on cover art, this is something I used to do a lot of when I had more disposable income. The trip to my lovely library was great, and I was happy to see a nice selection of cd's in which to browse. I just noticed that the incrediblly versatile and knowledgeable DJ /rupture has a new mix out, named Uproot. I have not put my mitts on it yet, but it sounds like he has retained his touch with world rhythms and continues in a dubstep direction leaving the previous breakcore sounds from years past.
