Last night Radiohead closed out their U.S. summer tour behind In Rainbows at the Santa Barbara Bowl. "We've bad a blast, generally," frontman Thom Yorke said of the itinerary. He also dedicated OK Computer's "Paranoid Android" to anyone who had surgery, saying "You're going to die soon. It's all going south." I saw him on Live at Abbey Road tonight with Ben Harper (another lover of mine)... but this Justin Currie - is quite simply GENIUS... The most painful parts of watching the olympics last week was putting up with MSNBC coverage during the daytime hours when NBC was showing soaps or local news. Really horrible live TV. The interactions between Tiki Barber and his co-host Tara somebody were mind numbingly stupid and catty. I guess the squeaky wheel gets the grease, and I got a little surprise today as I logged onto MOG after a long day of school. Thursday night at the Blue Note in New York City, I had the pleasure of seeing Amel Larrieux for the 5th time in my life. This performance pierced me straight in my gut and soul. A little something something was much different from her previous shows. Amel's energy level was at an all time. I bought a CD on Wednesday. An actual CD! One of those things with the annoying plastic on the outside and sticky tape around the top that leaves gunk on it that pisses me off.
