With all of the craziness of work and traveling and trying to have something that resembles a social life during my time off, I decided to have a day that was the opposite of that. Lately I've been mired down in this paper that talks about the connections between African Music,Cuban Music, and the music of New Orleans. This live video I just found on youtube is pretty illustrative of the deep roots that are shared between Africa and the West. I just read about the death of George "Wydell" Jones, member of The Edsels, and composer of their lasting contribution to American pop culture, "Rama Lama Ding Dong."
