Blog post image preview Check out this wet & wild surf instro! Waves of fuzz guitar riffs merge with a wailing waterproof sitar going up in flames (apparently not fireproof) yet managing to sound the alarm... backwards. Hey, what was in that koolaid? Hang ten and trip on out!

Ice Cube Sez "Do Ya Thang" - New Video Off Upcoming "Raw Footage"

Artist:
Album: Raw Footage
Track: Do Ya Thing
I dig this new Ice Cube video for "Do Ya Thang."  It's like an updated version of an old school Ice Cube video.  I kept expecting his shiny little sports car to start pumpin up and down...   I also like the smooth and heavy beat.  Good tune for a smoke break. "Do Ya Thang" is off Raw Footage, out August 26th.... MORE

Free music video of Hercules (3)

The first truism is I will never pass up the opportunity to play a classic pinball game. I am talking 1990 and later. The second is I don't shirk from riding new roller coasters. I am always game to try out a new coaster. If it beats me up the first time I simply won't go on it again ... much. Rather then jump to the story about guns, cleavage, and drugs I will start with what ever is left. I promise you it will make sense in the end. This is called 'leading the re... MORE

His Personal Blue

(3)

I certainly would of never thought about this.  This album kind of sounds like what he Beach Boys should have been doing in the mid/late 70's.  He kind of sound like Jerry Garcia, the music mellow and kind of funky.  Which makes this your first FF post for the week.  Hugs!... MORE

Another gem from "On An Island" Although these songs stand quite nicely alone, they really should be enjoyed in the context of the musical work they are a part of. I really can't say enough about this "creation" CD seems so demeaning.... MORE

Often bands, in order to receive more airplay in overseas markets, artists would record their hits in another laguage.  German was a popular choice for the european markets back in the day.  The Beatles did it with I Want To Hold Your Hand, and She Loves You.  Here, The Beach Boys do it with In My Room.  We've had talk of this song before on the Mog, just throwin it out thre again, it's worth a second listen.  ... Free music video of Firecracker (2)
Why wait for the 4th of July when you get start shooting off fireworks at 11:30 the night before, right?? I am waiting for a roman candle to come shooting through my window any second now and put me out of my misery.
I can't really complain though. Twenty years ago i would have been doing the exact same thing. It's what kids do. And I can't even knock the parents. I had amazing parents,, but we were still SO stupid. I remember getting in bottle rocket fights EVERY year wit... MORE

Wild Thing

Free music video of Wild Thing (2)
I remember listening to FM radio and the Troggs "Wild Thing" late in the night under the covers so my folks wouldn't know I was still awake. The song has been covered so many times, and the tune always grabs me. Fast forward 20 years to Monterey. Just as good as Woodstock in my opinion, but with less of the ground breaking free for all culture that made WS the legend it became. Hendrix. Good thing the poor guy didn't try and make his living just through his singing. But... MORE

This CD is an absolute gem. Should I go on? Oh, we have our Pink Floyd whiners who seem to have a problem with David using some of his wife's lyrics, but as far as I am concerned, you go with what works And damn if this doesn't work! Trying to carve out a space beyond the Pink is not an easy thing to do,but it is done here! This CD is in constant rotation in my musical sphere as well as the DVD... MORE

Well Then...

(3)

...If we're gonna be all obsessed and shit with Brian Wilson, I really like this intrumental from previously mentiond Pet Sounds album.  I think this song just sounds like the sixties, caught right as America was falling headlong into those unsure and troubled times.  This song is like the soft spot in a gray sky.... Come on! Even Rollingstone said so...and don't you feel really American when you listen to the Ramones, even if you aren't?
"The Ramones always believed in their music's message of self-deliverance. They celebrated rock & roll, patriotic flag-wavers, simultaneously harking backward and forward. Their music wasn't angry, though it did have firepower and relentless energy. If anything, the Ramones affirmed that if they could do it, you could do it; just be re... MORE

I had to say goodbye before I went away.

I wish I could say that my bags are packed…I wish I could say the house is the cleanest it’s ever been…I wish I could say that all of our plans are set in stone while on our trip BUT I CAN’T! We are off tomorrow, gone for three weeks, vacationing in Europe (does that sound snooty…I think that sounds terribly snooty). Our itinerary is pretty easy going. We will be in the southwest region of France (think Dordon River and Limoges, the plac... MORE
