One thing that I noticed when I was a participant in the graffiti scene in San Francisco was an ongoing battle between the crews US and HR over the name Cake which had been claimed by a member from both crews. Both members are from Oakland, but while Cake 89 is a tattoo artist, the other Cake is the new Mars Volta drummer. The Mars Volta have confirmed a January 29, 2008 release for their fourth studio album, The Bedlam In Goliath (GSL/Universal). The album was produced by the band's composer and lead guitarist Omar Rodriguez-Lopez. After listening to an advanced copy of The Bedlam in Goliath for about a week, I am ready to release my opinion of the record, and the band as a whole. This comes at a perfect time, for the album will be released tomorrow. This may help you save money and rather indulge in something that may not leave you somewhat annoyed.

Starting things off by setting rather high expectations and featuring this song, but what else can I do when I am still coming back to this album and song nearly every week since its first release? "Wow," my friend mutters as we turn down the final lingering sounds of the Mars Volta's 6th album, "That completely sucked." Sadly, I'm forced to agree. As the iPod population grows, CD sales tank. Once you've got the file machine, you don't want the disk. Disks sound better than low-res MP3s, but it seems most people don't care. Don't forget, low quality cassettes eclipsed sales of vinyl records, which still sound better than the vaunted CD.
