The Fratellis

The Fratellis Boston show at the Paradise was fantastically fun. They have an amazing energy in their albums and on stage. The Paradise is an incredibly intimate venue, I felt really lucky to see them there – I know that they sell out much larger venues in the UK.  They were also very kind about signing things afterwards! It’s Memorial Day, and I’ve been spending the long weekend in Monterey with my brother and his family. Nothing remarkable there. A friend described the Fratellis as sounding like "Jack White singing OK Go songs." I'm not sure if this description really makes sense, but it does imply a certain energy that I love. The Fratellis play incredibly catchy, upbeat, bouncy tunes that I can never get enough of, and this one is always one of my favorites.... MORE

They're from northern enough England, that anytime they said anything between songs, I was confused. The only word I ever understood was "fucking." hahaha. They played just about everything off of Costello Music. Melissa really enjoyed herself, even though she didn't know any of it. Didn't even recognize the one apple has all over their iPod ads.
