By Grabthar’s hammer! I just realized that the Cramps are not playing their usual Halloween show in San Francisco this year. I don’t know exactly how many times the cadaverous Lux Interior, the dead-sexy Poison Ivy and cohorts have rattled the Warfield or Fillmore on October 31st with their patented brand of shockabilly, but it won’t feel as much like All Hallows’ Eve without them in town.
Of course, I have some freaky alternatives in mind. (Insert evil chuckle here.) ... MORE

Target Video's The Cramps Live At Napa Stage Hospital is one of the very best live music DVD products available anywhere.... I don't know if it will be part of this upcoming shindig..... but.....
It is several months away - but save the date and mark your calendars! The Getty Museum in Los Angeles, CA is installing an exhibit called "California Video" which will feature the work of well-known video ma... MORE
So, it is definitely arguable who and what band was the first to practice the fine art of psychobilly. Regardless of the answer, from my perspective The Cramps "popularized" (if you can ever associate that word with the Cramps) the genre. But that seems like a pointless argument, like trying to pinpoint the origins of punk and finding yourself all the way back at the invention of the first guitar.

Then along comes a Leonard Cohen song. Now, I know lots of people really like him, and I won't argue that he's a great songwriter, but it pushed me ... MORE

August posted a Television song that made me think of The Cramps, but in slow motion. And can you believe that he's only heard two Cramp songs???? ;P
So, here are a couple of videos for one of our newest, and already loved, moggers. I may make EMCD status yet. :)
This one is "Human Fly" - which is a strange song that I think you'll appreciate:
But, this one is easily my favorite Cramps song. I've probably made a number of people laugh while singing and ... MORE
There is just so much to say about The Cramps and I’m not sure to start… there is their; embrace of the trash/low culture image and media, from forgotten primitive rock and roll to the illusion to 50’s films and Hollywood, to their howling mad antics, The Cramps have been one of the corner stones of what horror punk has become. They have also been responsible for the rediscovery of many great songs, in fact I would say that my favorite Cramps albums are not even by the Cramps... MORE
