As anyone with half an ear knows, Steve Vai can play a guitar like nobody else. His playing takes you on a trip through the cosmos. It's a sound so inspired and so pure that you'll swear that you can sense God on the other side of it. No, I'm not using hyperbole, and I'm absolutely serious. If you don't believe me, hit the "play" button with this article and just close your eyes. If you don't agree with the comment at the end of the song, "OK we know you can PLAY!" ... MORE
"I love the sound of a well played guitar in the morning!" This track by Steve Vai is one of his baddest that I've heard so far, and from what I've seen of his earlier albums I don't think that it will be too long before he strips the crown from his master and mentor Joe Satriani. If you think the song is top notch, you should check out the video on youtube.
He is the best I've ever heard. He makes a guitar sound like it is actually "feeling" emotion. In his hands, a guitar is a living creature. If you asked the very best young guitarists who was the major influence on their playing....80 or 90% would name him.
Details another time, but if you haven't before....meet Steve Vai. He is playing his song, "For the Love of God"
