It's true. At one point Cure front man Robert Smith with the guitarist with Siouxsie and the Banshees. Siouxsie & The Banshees were notorious for going through guitarists the way 80s metal bands went through Aqua Net, and at one point Smith was their guitarist. The union didn't last long -- Smith was thrown out of the band by management because he was apparently having a bad influence on the never-accused-of-teetotaling post-punk icons. "The Double Life" is taken from the album "The Rapture", which was the groups last studio album before breaking up. Siouxsie continued with Budgie in "The Creatures", and Steven Severin went solo. Now, Siouxsie and Budgie has gone different ways, and Siouxsie has released her first solo album ever! (Mantaray).... MORE

"120 Minutes" was originally a MTV deal (Remember Dave Kendall). Now it has some type of incarnation on VH1 Classic (Don't know the specifics, as I don't have VH1 Classic)

Here is a track from the "Peepshow" album by Siouxsie & the Banshees. It was released in 1988 by Polydor Records. The band was: Siouxsie Sioux-Steven Severin & Budgie with Martin Mccarrick & Jon Klein.

Everywhere I go these days I keep running into Siouxie songs, clips, as if the universe is trying to get my attention. Then again, there's a new Siouxsie record coming out, so maybe a PR firm is trying to get my attention. But in any case, it's made me rediscover one of my favorite bands. Reminding me of I saw them live on the Boston Common years ago, or riding the submway with Siouxie in my walkman (that's an old school i-pod for you kids :)

The vitality of this album is in the fluidity of the band. Following the mediocre "Join Hands", half the band split, leaving Siouxsie and bass player Steve Severin to hastily recruit John McGeogh on guitar, and Budgie on drums.Robert Smith of The Cure once stated this album in the top 5 of his all-time favourites. I'm here at work, working on my personal development plan. And I hear this emanate from the laptop behind me. Interested, I spin around in my spinny chair to see what Pandora has left on my audible doorstep. It's a Siouxsie & The Banshees song. That I have not heard. From a Box Set I didn't know existed. Ack, my personal development is obviously stilted and unsupported. How did I not know about this? WTF?! Ack!!
