There's a loooot of mud slinging going on in the musical community about Shiny Toy Guns' new album. First and foremost, they've kicked out the lead female vocalist on their debut album, Carah Faye and replaced her with Sisely Treasure. Their latest album Season of Poison features a bolder, more guitar lead sound and their new female vocalist has stepped up with a more adventurous female vocal style. If you've ever heard me talk about the Shinys, you know I have a bit of a soft spot for them. (I have a soft spot for anyone who gives me a free ticket to their show and then buys me drinks afterwards. Why yes, I can be easily bought.) Well now they are back with a new single and a new female singer. I'm not quite sure what I think other than their Season of Poison should be interesting.

One of the few bands I can't seem to get sick of is Shiny Toy Guns. Having only one album out, they've already made it big and caught the attention of millions of people across America. Their electro/rock sound is catchy, simple and easily addicting and personally, I don't know a single person that doesn't like them. Listen to this song a couple times. It WILL grow on you. Of course it's a little weird but that's because it comes from the electro goth tribute to prince.....? haha.

This is Poison Season's closing track; for those who placed a premature judgment on the new sound direction - I say give this a listen because it's the opposite of Ricochet - this is more of a rock power ballad.

The Shiny Toy Guns are heading out on tour with Yellowcard and Blue October this fall. The tour kicks off September 20th in Atlanta, Georgia and wraps November 17th in Austin, Texas.
