You all must know by now the unhealthy obsession I have with Ryan Adams. It's not that I don't listen to other artists, in fact MOST of my time is dedicated to just that. It's just that I find myself just being spoken to by his music. I can't help but think that the very purpose of music is to touch one's soul, and on many days, Ryan's does.... Well, what a day for Ryan Adams news. When he's not writing his new book, it looks like Mr. Adams has been doing more routine, day-job style work, like writing a new album and touring. The tour kicks off in November with a sources suggesting that a new album will be released to coincide with it. See you at the Cambridge Corn Exchange date! Or, I've been following him. Whatever. One or the other is true. Seriously. Ryan and I have collided nearly every single year so far in the 21st century. It didn't happen in 2000, nor did it come together in 2001 when I was supposed to see him in Memphis but the little bastard canceled so he could appear on Saturday Night Live with Gwyneth Paltrow. The album's cover art was drawn by Adams. Art appears to be one of his major non-musical interests, which makes perfect sense if one considers Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, John Lennon and all the cerebrally emotional artists who have graced us with their talents

I have caught the Ryan Adams bug, and I must express my gratitude to you all for passing on this affliction. It took me until _Easy Tiger_...specifically "Halloweenhead". WOW. This song has gotten so many plays in the past 7 months. I have read this all over the place, and even (ugh) checked the Oasis website for the confirmation. Oasis will play a handful of live shows with Ryan Adams in Canada. And they are coming to my hometown, Seattle for the first show (which is actually in the US, but we practice Canadian ethics and language here)! I have to admit, I used to make fun of Oasis alot. Ryan Adams is an insane genius. You never know what to expect at his shows. Things that I have witnessed: 1. Playing guitar and singing along to a record of Madonna's "Like a Virgin." 2. Filming a scene for one of his current Youtube videos (see below). 3. Improving a song about United Airlines damaging his acoustic guitar on a flight to Denver. Things that I have heard about: 1. Hello, all. Just wanted to stay in touch and let all of you know that I'm here and lurking and, well, not feeling the musical creativity flowing so much right now. My job is on the line right now, due to cutbacks, and in the scramble to find another job (or two...yay), and the holidays, and spending time with my fiance's ailing dad, and the gym, and the pub [WHEW!], I haven't had much of a fighting chance to sit and write. Since this is my directorial debut, I'd like to say a few words regarding this clip. You all know that Ryan Adams is slightly more than a hobby for me.
