Remy Zero Biography

Source: Wikipedia

Remy Zero is a Los Angeles based alternative rock band made up of Cinjun Tate (vocals, guitar), Shelby Tate (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Gregory Slay (drums), Cedric Lemoyne (bass), and Jeffrey Cain (guitar). Before recording any full length albums, Radiohead found their demo tape and invited them to be part of the US tour for The Bends. After that, they moved from Birmingham, Alabama to Los Angeles, California to record their first album. Several band mates suffered from substance abuse an...Read More >

I've been quite lately.... at least I feel like I have.... so here are a few thoughts on the music that I have been hearing lately.... The Thermals... I saw them live last week. they were great. I wanted them to have a fuller feel, but their sound isn't all that full... The Big Sleep... the sexy bass player aside (and she had a voice that was amazing, and under used) opened for the Thermals and while they had some great 70's Sabbath like riffs, the tunes were too lo... Blog post image preview Shelby Tate made a website for children he's working with in Cambodia. They are selling very cool paintings that the kids did themselves. I bought one the other day and it's great. http://serendipart.net
Since he's in Cambodia, I have no idea what this means for Remy Zero or Spartan Fidelity.....but you've got to admire and respect what he's doing, so I just thought I'd share!... MORE

I have spent a long time feeling justified in my thoughts and opinions. I say this because we can all unfairly judge someone or something now and then. I like to think I’m right most of the time. But the truth is that the best of us can sometimes make mistakes. Here are examples of where I was right and wrong... Let’s start with where I was right. Back when Batman Forever came out everyone was saying how great it was, That Joel Schumaker got it right where Tim Burton went s... MORE

A great song, sets the mood for one of those so called rainy days I hear about. I first heard this song while watching the movie "Garden State", that movie is one of my favorites, if not my favorite. The soundtrack to it is amazing, every song on there is mellow, I enjoy a good mellow tune.... MORE

Blog post image preview Here's three of my favorite rainy day tracks. Life In Rain (mp3) by Remy Zero.
This is the best track from Villa Elaine. I think I first heard the album in a record shop called the Long Ear in Coeur d' Alene, ID. There'd be 20 CD's on a wall display connected to a stereo with headphones. This was especially exciting because, at the time, there was no such thing as downloading or streaming music. This is how I was introduced to Villa Elaine. The reverb-y guitar i... MORE
