Okay, so I'm just learning how to use this thing. The first album I'm listening to is Butterglory's "Are You Building A Temple In Heaven?" and for some reason it's not showing up in my recently played. Hmmm...I'll get the hang of this thing eventually. The site moves pretty slow. Last night I passed on the opportunity to see one of my favorite bands, the Pernice Brothers. For some reason I just didn't feel like driving down there shortly before I planned to. I think it b... MORE
Last night I drove down to Northampton after a Northfield Christmas party. After a couple on one off name changes to Chappaquiddick Skyline and Big Tobacco the newly named Pernice Brothers (took a while to come up with a decent name, eh?) released Overcome ... MORE

I was sad for Pernice Brothers when they last played in Sacramento in December 2003. The turnout on that rainy Monday night was about 45 people, but the show was top-notch regardless. This time the turnout was better, about 80-100, but still lower than deserved, given Joe Pernice's gifts at song craft and the sheer tightness of his band. The audience really took to the opener, Elvis Perkins with his band of three ... MORE
