I just tried to post a long entry on "17 Days" by Prince and the Revolution, but the site timed out. I lost everything. Instead, I give you all this song in hopes you all become as severely depressed as I am. Of all of Nouvelle Vague's reinterpretations, nobody talks about this one. Nouvelle Vague always finds awesome punk/ new wave/ etc songs and updates them in a bossa style.
theyre improved upon "Love Will Tear Us Apart," "This is Not a Love Song," Too Drunk to Fuck," and "Bela Lugosi's Dead" among others.

Last night I was at the Silverlake lounge, and there was a band playing that reminded me of Nouvelle Vague. I think it was the girl's voice. I wish I knew what the band's name was... they ruled. So, story has it that Crammed Records is releasing a new 2006 edition of their compilation of Balkan-Gypsy band remixes.
This year's album will be released on Nov. 7th and features bands Nouvelle Vague and Animal Collective.
I can find NO more information about this.

I went to see Nouvelle Vague at the Fonda last night, and I had a great time! I have to say that I was a little concerned that this would be one of those studio bands that don't transfer to the stage at all but I was pleasantly surprised to hear that they sound even better live than they do in the studio.
