LOLLA Day 3 The humidity and heat returned for the final day of Lollapalooza but Obama was still a no show (Barack had been rumored to make an appearance all weekend). Nevertheless, the audience as well as the artists ramped up the energy, special guests & surprises. Nine Inch Nails battled versus Kayne for attention till the very end. Trent Reznor and I are on a first-name basis. At least, in my head we are. After all, we’ve been through a lot together, he and I. It was a great Labor Day weekend in Kentucky. My wife Heather & I attended our 4th Nine Inch Nails show this tour in Lexington Kentucky's Rupp Arena last night...and this time as you can see in the picture, we made it to the rail. At least we did for a little while. Last week brought news of HBO's negotiations with Kanye West for a new reality series, now we can officially add Trent Reznor into the mix. Year Zero, which is Reznors vision of a worldwide chaos and nuclear war could very well turn into an HBO series, according to The Los Angeles Times. Let's hope they have an ultra-lux tour bus becuse the boys of NIN will be on the road for the rest of the year. As they wrap up the last leg of their summer tour, the band has added a slew of North-American fall dates to help promote their new album The Slip which was released online this May. Nine Inch Nails mastermind, Trent Reznor, recently discussed what an honour it was to be covered by the late GREAT Johnny Cash.  The song Cash covered, "Hurt," was originally released on Downward Spiral in 1994, then covered by Cash in 2002.  Reznor revealed it was more important to him than any industry standard and that Cash gave him the best compliment ever.  Reznor told the Sun, "He said afterwards it was a song that sounds like one he would have written in the 60s and... Nine Inch Nails has made its new ten-song, 44-minute minute album entitled The Slip available for free download at www.nin.com (free signup required). Met up with Katrina, her good friend Amanda, and Lizzie for VMFest yesterday at the Pilmico Race Course. I've mentioned in the past, or alluded to at least, the fact that there are some songs out there that just scream "SEX" whenever I hear them.  Sometimes it is completely explicit in the lyrics, other times it is just the "feel" of the song that does it, although probably not intentionally.  But either way, for me, there are many songs out there that immedialtely bring coitus to mind when I hear them.
