Considering the I went to the Nine Inch Nails concert 2 months ago, this post was a long time coming. After the amazing experience I had, I wanted to make this an uber-post with photos, video, the whole shebang. Unfortunately, the overly ambitious expectations I had put on this post made it's creation a daunting task and I ended up putting it off... and putting it off. Well, I'm back, and though this post won't have all the bells and whistles I hope ... MORE

October is the month when I sometimes put on ghost parties, inviting a group of friends together for an evening of ghost stories. Candles flicker inside grinning pumpkins. In a dark corner, a hooded ghoul sits propped in a chair. Some of the stories are macabre and disturbing, others melancholy and filled with pathos. Nine Inch Nails has recorded a set of instrumental "ghost stories" titled Ghosts I-IV that superbly captures this spectrum of the spectral. The nameles... MORE

It was a great Labor Day weekend in Kentucky. My wife Heather & I attended our 4th Nine Inch Nails show this tour in Lexington Kentucky's Rupp Arena last night...and this time as you can see in the picture, we made it to the rail. At least we did for a little while. The crowd surge got to be a bit much for us after a while and we got squeezed out but it was great while it lasted. The 3 piece opening act White Williams from Ohio, was quite boring and had a pretty negat... MORE
Last week brought news of HBO's negotiations with Kanye West for a new reality series, now we can officially add Trent Reznor into the mix. Year Zero, which is Reznors vision of a worldwide chaos and nuclear war could very well turn into an HBO series, according to The Los Angeles Times. "It's the most exciting thing on the horizon, [and] it's the thing that, when I wake up in the morning, it makes me say, 'God, it would be cool if that happened,' " Reznor told the Ti... MORE

Nine Inch Nails mastermind, Trent Reznor, recently discussed what an honour it was to be covered by the late GREAT Johnny Cash. The song Cash covered, "Hurt," was originally released on Downward Spiral in 1994, then covered by Cash in 2002. Reznor revealed it was more important to him than any industry standard and that Cash gave him the best compliment ever. Reznor told the Sun, "He said afterwards it was a song that sounds like one he would have written in the 60s and... MORE
Nine Inch Nails has made its new ten-song, 44-minute minute album entitled The Slip available for free download at www.nin.com (free signup required). The new set includes the songs "Echoplex" and "Discipline" which were both posted online during the last couple of weeks ahead of the new album release. Trent Reznor released the instrumental "Ghosts I-IV" album online on March 2. The two-hour collection of 36 untitled instrumental tracks was made available in various high... MORE
Met up with Katrina, her good friend Amanda, and Lizzie for VMFest yesterday at the Pilmico Race Course. The girls had spent the weekend up in Baltimore and surely have things to report from Saturday’s musical outpourings, but I’ll give a little recap of what we saw on Sunday. Of course the main reason for attendance was NIN. Katrina and Amanda are absolutely nuts for Trent, and I’ve seen them in action a few times myself, not to mention this would be Lizzie’s first live... MORE
I've mentioned in the past, or alluded to at least, the fact that there are some songs out there that just scream "SEX" whenever I hear them. Sometimes it is completely explicit in the lyrics, other times it is just the "feel" of the song that does it, although probably not intentionally. But either way, for me, there are many songs out there that immedialtely bring coitus to mind when I hear them. In a psychological sense, I don't know what this says about me. As... MORE

It’s been 2 days of extreme highs and extreme lows. I am fully convinced that the Oakland show was just a warm up for what I experienced in Inglewood. The intensity of this show truly blew my mind (and this was my 7th time seeing them). First off, be prepared for a full on bitch fest [...]
