Miles Davis piece "Spanish Key" from his "Bitches Brew" album was the first jazz performance I heard that I loved so much that I tried to memorize every phrase in it.
This video shows Miles's trumpet solo from a live performance in Antibes four weeks before "Bitches Brew" was recorded.

Unbelieveable what shows up now that there are video sites available like YouTube and Daily Motion.
Just found a performance by Wayne Shorter with a European rhythm section at the Molde Jazz Festival in 1966. I wonder if this was a one-time band hired for the occasion or if they toured.
I don't recognize any of those musicians, but the playing is very good.
I've never seen video of Wayne playing this tune, but it was frequently played by the Miles Davis Quintet... MORE
