Just got back from Jens Lekman's SF show at Bimbos...I love this guy, but unfortunately...I think he was tired.
last time was better...way better.
He started out in charming fashion playing air-chimes and dancing along to his songs with choreographed hand motions-- A for Adorable. But as the set progressed the band (violin, cello, laptop guy, bass, drums) disappeared and Jens was looking a little droopy as he whistled through Friday Night at the Drive-in Bingo and whisp... Just posted Hallelujah by The Helio Sequence yesterday. The Opposite Of Hallelujah, Jens Lekman isn't quite catchy. But name of track is enough to get me feel "What a Hallelujah!"

I am in such awe of good songwriters. They make it seem so easy. But have you ever tried to tell a story with emotion and melody in under five minutes? Not so easy at all.
I am have been listening to Jens Lekman almost non stop for all of this week. The guy is so gifted when it comes to crafting a song...here is one of my favorite tunes of his...This song really speaks to me too...I had a great friend in college, she was a lesbian..i had to play the part of her boyfriend... I have had this Jens Lekman album FOREVER and have just been sitting on it...not so smart.
It would have been a great summer album...the arrangements and the lyrics are bouncy without being overtly poppy...the guy can really craft a song.

Swedish pop musician Jens Lekman's second full length album entitled Night Falls Over Kortedala is slated for worldwide release October 9th.
Lekman's publicist announced preorders for either the Swedish or US release will also receive a special bonus disk. which will be offered via the Secretly Canadian Webshop.
Also,
Jens' headlining US tour kicks off October 23(see below).
