Jay-Z and Kanye premiered the song in concert less than a week ago, and now the .mp3 is available for our listening pleasure. The official title of the song is "Dope Boy Fresh" but everyones already taken a liking to calling it "Jocking Jay-Z". I know a new single being released usually means that the album is near, but Jay-Z has said only 3 or 4 songs have been completed on the new project. Perhaps he felt pressured to leak this song since everyones been asking for it... MORE
A few weeks ago, Jay-Z told MTV he was looking to start recording his next album as soon as he finished touring. Fans who may have had doubts that Hova would churn out a new album that fast may want to quiet down now, because Timbaland has confirmed he and Jay are already in talks to create new music. "He wants me to do the whole thing this time around," Timbaland said Monday during a visit to the MTV News office. "I'mma make it a classic too. You better believe it. It'... MORE
Last night at Kanye's 'Glow In The Dark' show in New York City, Yeezy brought out Jay at the end of the show to debut a new song. The track is called "Jockin Jay-Z" and is produced by Kanye. Jay and Yeezy also shouted out "Blueprint 3" a few times, which confirms the title of Hove's upcoming album (barring a change of heart).

The critics have been rather vocal in the UK, 'Jay-Z is the wrong choice for headliner of this year's Glastonbury Festival.' The issues has been one of heated debate, but recently Jay-Z fired back. He said: "It's ridiculous, if we don't embrace what is new, then how do we progress?" He continued: "I've never actually experienced anything like that before. "It's 2008, what is that about? That's such old school thinking, that's not even how the world thinks anymore... MORE
Jay-Z called into Sirius to interview with former XXL editor-in-cheif Elliot Wilson and Angela Yee for a chat about his new album. The new LP is definitely titled The Blueprint 3 and it MIGHT come out before the end of the year, according to Jay. As we speak, only three songs have been completed for the album and Jay is still "finding his range" while working with different producers. He also addressed the rumors that his $150 million dollar deal with Live Nation was fall... MORE
OK, I know everyone has been posting about Jay-Z's AMAZING performance at Glastonbury this weekend, but no one mentioned his unique cover of Estelle's "American Boy". As Troy Powers and Jonh Ingham and Christheskins have been commenting (on Sturg's post), Hov tailored every song for a British audience. This is extra-evident during "American Boy" where he raps about "ladies' britches," "taking the piss" and more: I wonder what the wifey's response to this... MORE
So Glastonbury and the media hyped controversy between Jay-Z and Oasis is finally over. MTV sat down with Jay-hova to discuss his next move, and his feelings toward Noel Gallagher. Not surprisingly, Jay was in good spirits (seriously, what does he ever have to be angry about?) and was still feeling a natural high from his performance. "Well, I'm pretty much now in a great place, I'm in the zone," Sir Hova of Brooklyn told MTV Base this week. "Glastonbury was a historic e... MORE
As I was driving home today I began to wonder how I used to find out about new music before the wonderful internet invaded my life. I am talking a good ten years back when the only constant exposure you had to music was the radio. I guess you could include MTV as exposure, but when I was a kid I did not have the luxury of cable television growing up. Now I look at my music collection, and I wonder how did I get to the point where I listen to all the different types of mus... MORE
I had only been keeping up with the Jay-Z/Glastonbury drama half-way. I didn't see what the big deal was, but I had never heard of Glastonbury before the big stink about Jay headlining it.
Anywayz, to all those who thought hip-hop had no place at Glastonbury...
Damn, I think this dude represented hip-hop well Sunday night. I'm trying to download the full performance now. I'm proud of Jay. Way to stick to your guns and prove the critics wrong!
