I was actually partial to Ingrid Michaelson 's new album. After one of my friends introduced her music to me, it was inevitable that I'd like her music. Her absence in music scene was eminent with the arrival of fold-pop singers like Sara Bareilles and Meiko didn't help either.
Her Chain track (listen to it here ) was pretty good, compared to her title track, Be Ok . Despite Be Ok's finger-snapping beat, the rest of her tracks are fit for kindergarteners ("I can do ... MORE

A truly beautiful live performance from one of my favourite artists...
And all we can do is keep breathing....
Another lovely live performance from Ingrid at the Mile High Music Festival... think I need to join that music club...lol I woke up this morning with a funny taste in my head.
Spackled some butter over my whole grain bread.
Something tastes different, maybe it's my tongue.
Something tastes different, suddenly I'm not so young.
I'm just a stranger, even to myself.
A re-arranger of the proverbial bookshelf.
Don't be a fool girl, tell him you love him.

I keep talking about this song, and I probably won't stop, because it means so much to me. When I first heard it, i knew Ingrid was singing about an ended relationship and a broken heart. Even knowing this, I never thought about it that way because of how much of myself I heard in the lyrics. Who doesn't have days (or weeks, or months, or years) where they just want to be ok? For me, I've felt like this since the day my mother was diagnosed. And even more since she died ... MORE
It's a long story involving an all-night mix-making marathon and a hotel that didn't give me any hours next week, but the short version is I get to spend 5 nights back home in Abington! Thats the most time I've spent there in months. Any good (cheap) shows I can check out while I'm around (Sunday-Thursday), Philly Moggers? So I'm packing exra quickly now since I'm leaving to go to Albany in about half an hour, but I saw some Ingrid-related news I had to post. When I rev... MORE

On Saturday night I was able to check out a dynamic duo of artists: David Ford and Ingrid Michaelson . I'd been looking forward to the show ever since finding out about it as I sincerely enjoy both of their musical output. David's latest album, Songs For the Road - which came out earlier this year, is a brilliant album that I had every intention of writing about but somehow didn't.
It's his second solo effort, and while only nine tracks, is worth every penny (be it Am... MORE

What if we stopped having a ball
What if the paint chips from the wall
What if there's always cups in the sink
What if I'm not what you think I am
What if I fall further than you
What if you dream of somebody new
What if I never let you win-- chase you with a rolling pin-- Well, what if I do?
Cause I am giving up on making passes, and I am giving up on half empty glasses, and I am giving up on greener grasses. I am giving up. I give up...

Ingrid Michaelson, has followed up her successful album, Girls and Boys, with another pleasant record, Be OK. Michaelson is known for her simple, yet soothing, and honest pop friendly ballads.
The album doesn't blow one away in creativity or musicality, but makes up for it with a delightful voice and a pure consistency that is not usually matched. You never will hear more than a few instruments, most times being a single guitar or piano with her solo voice. This means t... MORE

Caged It was to me like strings to a violin being part of the music that you wore like a shroud And I wonder if it was real Or just a moment on a cloud but that was then and this is now Im left behind Floating on a cold wind with broken wings and a sigh. Far behind you caged in your wake and left to be In a haze the thought to go would set me free My heart screams out that was never to be the case so with broken heart that you just can't see Wit... Just got back from the Ingrid Michaelson concert at the Fillmore. I had planned to write a full review of the show, but I am just too tired and I know I'll forget tomorrow. So here's what you need to know: -First act was Philly native George Stanford. completely forgettable. -Greg Laswell was good, but most of his songs are incredibly sad. He has a new album coming out in July. Also he has an awesome red hat (you cant tell cause my camera is crap http://www2.mog.com... MORE

Fans of Ingrid Michaelson listen up. The singer will be releasing a brand new album on October 14th titled BE OK . But, it's not just any old album, it's a benefit for Stand Up To Cancer , and will include previously unreleased songs, covers, and live recordings from Ingrid’s set list over the past year. Ingrid will be using her talents to support this worthy cause by not only releasing this album, but also appearing in a video for the title track (which came ou... MORE
