Hot Chip wants you arrested. Their new video for "Arrest Yourself" is a fabulous blend of new and old techtronics, meshing Kraftwerk visuals with Matrix themes. Check it out:

Ya know, I have had this Hot Chip record since like February when I realized they were playing Coachella and I am JUST now getting in to it. Every time I hit one of these uber-festivals I go a little nuts with acquiring all of the bands on the bill that I am not familiar with...then it takes me like six months to actually sit and listen to everything. Anyway, the point I am TRYING to make is that I really like 'The Warning'. Especiall this title track...I love the 'gangs... MORE
NME has posted some details about Hot Chip's newly announced North American tour. I have copied/pasted the text below for the lazy MOGgers:

They will be supported by Jamie Lidell, Gang Gang Dance and Mouse On Mars. They will play: Baltimore Sonar (November 1)New York Webster Hall (2)Philadelphia Webster Hall (3)Boston Parad... MORE

One of those weekends. Our film did well, so I got friday of as well as memorial day monday. So I maybe over-did it a bit, and laid rather low on the mogometer. Ha, that'll change when I'm sat back in front of my computer at work tomorrow! I wanted to post something by my friend's band Grand Elegance, but I still can't make my computer upload songs I got off CDs, so that was a no-go. I saw them at the Alex theatre in Longbeach on saturday night, and was pretty blown away. ... MORE
I'm coming to you live from the 6th floor of the Los Angeles Airport Marriott where the pool is nice, the food is good and I haven't paid for anything yet. Despite being in LA, this isn't a bad business trip. I could probably get used to having the company pay me to fly all over the place and learn things. But... it's still LA. I miss my Jenny. Before I left I added to my Palm some of the 2006 albums I haven't had time to give a proper listen. Among them was The Warnin... MORE
Man, I've got Hot Chip's "Over & Over" running through my head today. Love it.
However, I hope the RIAA doesn't sue me for unauthorized performance of the tune. I try to only hear public domain tunes in my head to be safe and law abiding but it's tough when a tune is really catchy.
I may need a lawyer soon.
So the Nationwide Mercury Prize is awarded tonight and aired on BBC Two at 11:35pm. I would vote for Hot Chip, but must admit I have only listened to 5 of the nominated records (2 of them cursorily). Anyone want to make a little wager? I'll put $5 USD payal cash on the Arctic Monkeys.
