These guys are just plain awesome. My favorite Japanese garage rock band (though I can't say I really know many bands in that category), pretty much all of their songs just bring it. One thing I like about them is that they (seemingly) purposely make their studio albums sound like they were produced or recorded with very poor quality equipment, but this is in order to have a more pure authentic garage sound. I think that's pretty sweet. Enjoy.
Last night, one of my housemates made me watch a movie. The contents of the house and another guest all cozied up with our burritos, some beverages and no idea what to expect. Opening scene: UFOs and a meteorite. Following scenes included zombies (which I had previously not experienced before believe it or not), exploding heads, peter-pan looking evil-guys, ridiculous amounts of fake electricity and excessive flame usage. It even comes with an official drinking game. ... MORE
Guitar Wolf's cover of "Summertime Blues" is everything I love in this world for two minutes and thirtyfive seconds.
Thats really all I can say about this song while remaining relatively coherent

In the same vein as the Link Wray post, i've never seen good Guitar Wolf. i did find two videos. The first could easily be an ELO video:
and this one has clips from their movie:
I tried the video setting on my little camera at Borofesta, at Kyoto University Oct 2005 for the first time. The Guitar Wolf sound survives the capture of the very tiny micropone in a consumer digital camera pretty well - must be because it's a Japanese camera...
Wish I did it at more gigs (well maybe all bands would end up sounding like GW).
