Relix is confirming a Spring 2009 tour by all of the surviving members of The Dead :
Sources confirm that the surviving members of the Grateful Dead -- guitarist Bob Weir, bassist Phil Lesh,and drummers Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann -- are planning to tour in April and May of 2009. One of the great rock poster artists of all time, Alton Kelley, passed away Sunday. His death was due to "complications from a long illness," according to a press release. Alton Kelly's contribution to the legendary art exhibit, Joint Show. A little while ago MOG ran a story on the new Kurt Cobain converse. A cool concept considering the kicks were a trademark of the late rocker's look. Vacation here I come -> and to kick off a beautiful, mid 70'2 weekend hiking and spending time with the wife that is so cherished, since we hardly have time with us working alternating schedules and having a 4 year old who seems to have smoked crack and cannot sit still or relax! Jambase put up a really nice tribute post to Brent Mydland today, he passed away 18 years ago. Seems like just yesterday we were checking out "the new guy" on his first tour with the boys up in Maine. The waiters at the restaurant we went to that night swore my buddy ED D. was Brent and we were all with the band and we didn't do too much to deny it, they served us especially large lobsters with all the fixins' and treated us like royalty.
