So, yeah, I'm completely nuts for this video game Rock Band. I mean...come on...it's a video game where you get to be a rock star. What's not to love about that. Add to that, it's introduced me to a TON of new music. I mean, I really have an appreciation of rock music that just wasn't there before. I knew I was lost when I found myself walking to thy gym, holding my daughter's hand singing, "Heeeee's the one...who likes all our pretty songs...and he likes to sing along... MORE

Shirley Manson is an oxymoron.
Shirley Manson is not an attractive woman.
Shirley Manson is incredibly sexy. I can remember seeing Garbage's "Stupid Girl" video for the first time and being very conflicted. Between the huge forehead, the down syndrome eyes, and they pasty white skin, there's no way that I should be attracted to this woman. But, lord help me if I wouldn't fuck her to the point it was almost assault. Just something about her attitude. Love her P... MORE

Three semi-anonymous backroom boys fronted by a forgotten foot soldier from Edinburgh also-rans Goodbye Mr Mackenzie. On paper, they might not have been the most obvious dream ticket, but 12 million album sales and a half-decent Bond theme later Garbage were pretty big news. This is industrial grunge with a shiny pop sheen, proffered by festival favourites and stadium act support slot mainstays. Absolute... is a straight-forward chronological best of, which sets i... so garbage came out out with a best of collection called absolute garbage. is this truly the end of the mighty band? say it ain't so. but it seems like it.
anyway, they have the obligatory new track ('tell me where it hurts') to lure fans into purchasing the album. the song seems like a discarded track tossed during the 'beautiful garbage' era. it's a pretty song, but nothing earth shattering. good news, however, for the b-side to the single.
'betcha' is a goo... MORE

First off I gotta give props, this is a pretty sweet best of comp - am pleased to see they have included material from soundtracks - #1 Crush is one of my favorite Garbage songs. If your a remix buff you will appreciate the bonus cd of remixes too. Even the DVD looks promising - a must have for those who like having music video collections.
The only that really bothers me about this comp is the lack of the single 'Androgyny'. Some might say there are other songs tha... MORE

How could anyone who likes rock NOT love "Bleed Like Me"? The album is amazing. A rock album for the rock goddess that is Shirley Manson. Garbage is the only modern/current rock band that I like, I'm kind of a classic rock girl. So when I heard "Beautiful Garbage" was "too poppy, not rock n'roll enough" I was hesitant to buy it. But buy it I did, and it was great. I liken its' critics to people who would have wanted the Beatles to stick to "she loves you"-style ea... MORE

Garbage, on hiatus since 2005, have added a little surprise to their forthcoming hits collection, Absolute Garbage. The band have recorded a new song, "Tell Me Where it Hurts" which will be included on the CD/DVD set. The single arrives in stores solo on July 9th on two different vinyls and CD. One vinyl will have the B-side "Bad Boyfriend (Sting Like a Bee remix)," the other "All the Good in This Life," while the CD will include "Betcha." "Tell Me Where It Hurts"

When I first got your album Garbage, I got sucked into your world of pink feathers, charming vices, bitter revenge stories and one of the most sensual female voices I had heard. I grew up emotionally with that album (I was 14-15 years old at the time), I can't even begin to explain its importance to me. Then came Version 2.0. Your dark stories got a tad lighter, but were also enriched with aggressive and melodic beats. I was there, dear Garbage, enjoying the hell out of ... MORE

So, how is everyone? I've been doing quite well, surprisingly enough. Though I'm under immense stress due to overdue schoolwork and a tiresome job at a supermarket, I've somehow managed to maintain a positive-ish outlook of the world around me. Does anybody know of any shows worth attending that will be coming through Oklahoma or Texas in the near future? If yes, then please tell me.... MORE

"Garbage is just a producer's puppett band"....?!! NO...the Monkeys were, Garbage is made up of veteran musicians who survived the "New Wave" in the 80's and Grunge in the 90's, the critisism of their formation and the nit picking of their music. The result...fun, mostly techno-pop songs that are a bit off beat and catchy as hell. Their third album, Beautiful Garbage,
which was released in 2005, should have ended the "assembly-line" critisisms th... MORE
