Most of the kiddies are already on their way or already in LA prepping for a weekend filled with music, madness & mayhem !!! I am still at work - getting all my ducks (qack qack - as Chase would say) in a row & printing out a ton of google maps for all the places we will go come Friday ;) I am beyond excited, but there's still so much to be done !!! Gotta finish packing (I have organized piles, but nothing in a suitcase as yet). Gonna head to my godson Chase's after w... MORE
The age old adage that punk is dead has never been truer... and in the case for Flogging Molly, thank God. When Flogging Molly blitzed onto the punk scene with Side One Dummy in 2000, they helped breathe life into the dying genre. Sly comparisons were made to their likeness to The Bouncing Souls, The Dropkick Murphys, or even a distant one to The Pogues, but as the years progressed so did the compassion in their sound. The aforementioned similarities kicked aside with thei... MORE

Sunday was a hard and lovely day. The day started with me struggling out of bed at 8:30 to get a bottle of water and collapse back on the couch for some more sleep. The night before was spent celebrating a friend's 30th birthday, and I was appropriately hung over. The hangover was bad enough, but the temperature had plummetted into single digits overnight. I had a double-date with Flogging Molly coming up in a few hours, and all I could think of was a warm bed and a lo... MORE

I don't know how many backpacks Eastpak has managed to sell through taking a group of punk bands on tour but we sure can thank them for an awesome night anyway. Not even the hardcore punkrockers of Sweden were triggered to an extent worth mentioning by the stereotypical energetic Time Again and the appropriate adequate rockers of Street Dogs . But British Skindred sure did bring something new into the genre with hardcore , metal and ragga influences lead by a charismati... MORE

Tonight I nurse the punkrocker inside of me as the backpack producing company Eastpak drops by Stockholm with a number of punk bands from across the Atlantic , like Street Dogs , Skindred and Time Again . Not to mention the flagship of the tour: Flogging Molly . The Celtic punk band from LA draws me into their delightful folkfest just as effectively as Edinburgh band Broken Records does. It's going to be great fun if they manage to thaw Swedish hearts and let them join ... MORE

Earlier this year, I received notice that Flogging Molly was touring again this year. I couldn't have been more excited. I've only seen the band one other time, and I had to drive to Cincy in a snow storm to do it. It was a great show, but it's definitely the type of show to enjoy with a pint or two of your favorite brew. Luckily, they are coming to Indy this year, and I will be able to enjoy that pint. No driving == many pints. :) So I'm checking up on music news ... MORE
this Is a pretty fair sum up of alcaholisim. So is it a disease or am I just a miserable person seeking solice from the unending shittyness of my pointless existance. The last sentance would seem to be evidence of the latter.
Happy sunday to wake ya up on supersunday (I really don't care about it) Here's flogging molly with devils dance floor.
