Is this a big deal? Here's the press release. I'm not the biggest Echo and the Bunnymen fan, so I'm not sure how epic it would be to hear them perform a 24 year old album? New York, NY, May 6 – In the year of the band’s 30th anniversary, Echo & The Bunnymen comes to New York City on Wednesday, October 1st for a very special concert at Radio City Music Hall performing their beloved album Ocean Rain in its entirety backed by a 10-piece orchestra. Acclaimed musical director R... MORE
I didn't even make it a week and I have to ask myself, What does this say about my character? Where is my bravery? Since the 'No MOG Week' began I have felt both sides had something to say. One camp is frustrated. Frustrated by a site that they love so much not living up to expectations. I can live with that. I can't tell you how many times I have composed something only to see it vanish when I hit the 'Publish' button. Sure I can cut and paste (which I do now, even ... MORE
Every month Uncut Magazine UK has a feature called The Making of...in which they go behind the scenes in the making of a classic song. The November issue has The Making of...The Killing Moon by Echo & The Bunnymen. Ian McCulloch says the song came to him by divine inspiration. He was in bed when the lyric "fate up against yr will" appeared and the rest came soon after. Mac claims the vocal style in The Killing Moon was inspired by Bing Crosby, Elvis, Sinatra and his pers... MORE
Hands down, I think this could be my favorite Echo and The Bunnymen song. I don't want to lose friends over this or that war. It started with Funk Wars. I was up against Hyman, Trane, B42, Justin Oatmeal, and Cody B. All good opponents, but I don't want to cheese anyone off when it comes to my idea of Funk. Same goes for the combatants in Punk Wars. I had 2 posts to go and now I am giving up. So friends lend me your ears. Enjoy! More excellent "Punk" tunes to fol... MORE
One problem with my fabulous job is that about once a month we open a new show. This is nice in that we all get free diet cokes for a day – or if you're me, Fuze Green Tea – but if I actually consider any of the actors friends, then I have the inevitable opening night gift dilemma. Who makes the "I have to get them a gift" cut and what do you get them? Well, if you are me, then they are getting a mix CD. The only problem is, not everyone is a music person. Sad but... MORE
Have you ever had one of those weeks where everything seems to be going wrong? It's been one of those weeks for me. School, work, family, everything. Not pleasant. But speaking of work...Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving which also starts the frenzy of the holiday season in the US od A) has come and gone again. The difference is, I actually work at a mall. It was sheer insanity. Shoppers everywhere, parking lots completely full, it was a nightmare. I come i... MORE
...sometimes when I hear/read younger heads ranting and raving about "the next new thing" I get all "get off my lawn you meddling kids" up in the face...it's been said, it's been done and all that-- it makes me wanna run, run so far awa-a-ay...then I realize that that's all just a bunch of Bedbugs and Ballyhoo because older heads used to say the same shite to me back in the day...

One of the most important bands in the history of music today is Echo & The Bunnymen. Every day I check out AmazonMP3s "Deals of the Day" and today’s deal is the wonderful, bonus-track filled, self-titled release from the band that has influenced so many of the great bands I constantly write about. For those not [...]

Well,
I'm at work and don't have full access to my library, so I'm just trying this service out. I noticed the upload was a little sluggish. But, here it is.
I recently downloaded an old classic, and IMHO one of the finest albums of it's genre. That artist and album being - Echo & The Bunneymens classic "Songs To Learn and Sing" This is the last track on the disc. Front to back a masterpiece of lyrical and musical genius.
This is my first excursion into the realm of Mog. You can normally find me over at m'own weblog, Flaming Pablum, but I'm keen to give this thing a bit of a test-drive. Stand by, as they say. In short term, however, why not please enjoy the following video by ye olde Bunnymen, playing a corking live rendition of "Do It Clean."
It's been a hell of a night here... storms are off the hook... I would be in total heaven - only I feel like crap... so I got two songs for y'all... Then a chapter or two of Mr. Pottai-r (said like Welcome Back Kotter) & bed for this greeneyed coughing lass. See you tomorrow - promise I won't sneeze on you :)
