See if you can count the pop culture references in this post. McDonalds (1) introduced a series of American Idol Toys (2) fr it's Happy Meal (3) series of toys based on music genres -- pop (4), country (5), new wave (6) (!), etc. Devo (7) is pissed. Devo's complaint is based on the New Wave toy (see 6 above) called New Wave Nigel. The toy has an orange jumpsuit and pink sunglasses and an "energy dome" (8) hat. The chilly winds of August whipped around the Hordern Pavilion on this past Friday evening. But strange sights were noticed around Fox Studios as small groups of Devo-tees made their way to the structure where music was to be played. People in yellow or red jumpsuits, the ubiquitous flower-pot head gear and large numbers of band name emblazoned t-shirts were drawn to the light of the stage and the chance to experience Devo. I've been watching South Park recently, the repeats they show on the local independent station at eleven o' clock. I've also been using the term douche a lot recently. It didn't take a long time, but it certainly took longer than it should have for me to realize that there was a connection there. When you watch the video for Beautiful World you get slapped in the face with sarcasm that is hidden in the song. You know I never use the term sellout but really this song being used the way it is really bugs me.

For the Office:mac 2008 launch party at MacWorld 2008, Microsoft invited us to the Warfield in San Franciso to see Devo The Warfield is quite an interesting venue. We got to Fox Studios at about 7:30pm, briefly catching up with Nerdi, DomesticMouse and Bad Pauly before heading into The Hordern to catch the support band, Reguritator. Barbs hadn't seen them live before (I had, at Big Day Out) and so I knew what to expect. Even with a replacement drummer on the night, who was more than fitting into the bands sound, they were good, although the audience seemed a little quiet. my pos dell finaly took a dump last month and i had been to busy to instal some more memory and add a portable hard drive not too mention reboot the hard drive, instal all the fucking drivers, realize that he had used a work copy of ms office 8 years ago an hence did/does not have a disk, etc etc etc....anywho what the fuck did i miss?
