The first time I saw X at the Newport Music Hall in Columbus, Ohio in 1985, their intro tape (i.e. the music that played as the band assumed the stage) was Monty Norman's signature James Bond theme. I remember thinking that was entirely cool. Metallica used to enter to the strains of Ennio Morricone's "The Ecstasy of Gold." The Smiths used Prokofiev's lurching "Romeo & Juliet."
