At this point we are well used to models converting to acting or posing as a TV spokesperson. However, it is typically more painful when models try to sing. Today we were watching Almost Famous OnDemand. I've had Bowie's live cover in my head since we watched the scene when William's sister, Zoey Deschanel, played the original for her mother, Frances McDormand, as the reason she was leaving home. Turns out David Bowie is helping Woody Allen muse Scarlett Johansson on her debut music album, Anywhere I Lay My Head. Bowie lent his chops on two songs on the record - "Fannin’ Street" and "Falling Down." We can only assume the collaboration came with the help of the record's producer David Sitek. I wanted to post this Bowie song just because I really love it. Not sure why but it made me think of other men songs I like. Like Robyn Hitchcock's "The Man Who Invented Himself". I noticed that there's quite a large number of "The Man With The (insert descriptive word or phrase here)" songs. I think there's probably enough for a whole mix cd. Does anyone remember this movie? Labyrinth, or as I like to call it, David Bowie tries out his hand at acting while wearing really revealing tights!
As a child I loved it, but looking back I feel really sorry for the baby.
Although he was exposed to some good music (well.......) as a child, those puppets probably scarred him for life.

David Bowie has given the go-ahead for Director Peter Schaufuss' musical based around his hits, for a stage version of Bowie's cult sci-fi film 'The Man Who Fell To Earth'. The production will weave the singer’s hits based around the storyline of the 1976 flick. Schaufuss plans to launch the musical in his native Denmark this autumn, reports NME.
