Earlier this week Mogger pillowtalk posted a link to this new Cut Copy video for the track "Hearts on Fire." It's a great clip that makes you think how crappy it'd be to live under a rain cloud. Here it is directly for your enjoyment:

MOGachella Day 1 - ... and on to the show!

(27)
Free music video of Lights and Music (18)
First, a song from one of the bands that grabbed my attention at Friday's Coachella show, and has not let go. More on them later. After a restful night's sleep at the deceptively-named Vagabond Inn Executive, and a bit of morning beverage (juice for me, thanks), it was high time to meet the ladies and hit the road. Which we did in style, courtesy of Amber and the shortbus AKA the biggest SUV I've seen in some time. Huge carbon footprint, but at least we're carpooling, ri... MORE

wanderlust

(35)
Blog post image preview This was originally intended to be a post about Cut Copy but I couldn't come up with anything to say about them. Thus, the song is just an accomplice to my scattered, abstract thoughts...so do what you will with it. "It is true, I am only a wanderer, a pilgrim on this earth! But are you more?" The Sorrows of Young Werther, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog, Caspar David Friedrich, c. 1818... MORE

I'm digging new wave?

Artist:
Album:
Track:
(33)
Not sure that's an appropriate description of Cut Copy, but man I'm digging this record in a hardcore kind of way. It's immediately gratifying, and only gets better after multiple spins. Typically, for me anyway, anything overtly "retro"-sounding is a turn off, but there's something special about In Ghost Colours. It's like waking up in the morning and instantly being in a good mood (y'know - sun shining, birds singing, other corny things). This is the first track from the re... MORE

It’s been quite a while between releases for Melbourne based indie-synth-electro popsters, Cut Copy. But in that time they’ve built up an international reputation as some of the best in the business. Having toured with the likes of Franz Ferdinand, Bloc Party and Daft Punk, winning hearts all the while. Now with the eventual release of their sophomore album, In Ghost Colours, after a delay with the Australian release in order to coincide with the international one, t... MORE

Cut Copy

Artist:
Album:
Track:
(41)
Blog post image preview Cut Copy's album, Bright Like Neon Love, came out in 2004 and is a fine example of the newer wave of, err, new wave. Listen to this track and tell me it isn't infectious. The whole album is pretty listenable and catchy.

FabricLive 29 - Cut Copy

Artist:
Album:
Other Tags: Mixes, new releases, dance
Blog post image preview I have been a longtime fan of the Fabric series of mixes (both the "regular" versions and the live mixes), and Cut Copy has recently released one of my favorites. I loved Cut Copy's debut electro-pop album, 'Bright Like Neon Love'. For FabricLive 29, they pull out all of the stops and bounce from tech-pop to dance-punk to music-that-labels-haven't-been-invented-for-yet with ease. There are too many standouts on this album to mention, with tracks from Who Made Who, Goldfrap... MORE
