Bruce Springsteen is playing a free concert on the Ben Franklin Parkway Saturday Oct 4 in Philadelphia to campaign for Obama. You have to be a PA resident to get the tickets. Go here for more info. No word yet on if Mrs Dharmachris is permitting my attendance.... yikes!

To keep in line with the recent string of PG-rated, classic rock Super Halftime performances covering up the mess that was the 2004 Halftime show, the NFL and NBC have signed on Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band for 2009. The Boss follows in the footsteps of Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones, Tom Petty and Prince, but even the latter faced some scrutiny.

MUSIC NEWS- Bruce Springsteen has comitted to another event for Democratic Presidential candidate, Barack Obama. The event is a rally, Saturday, October 4 at 3:30p in Philadelphia, PA. Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel are set to perform later next month at a benefit for US Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama . The event will take place October 16 in New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom and will feature other performers that have yet-to-be announced. Tickets for the benefit range from $500 to $10,000.

How is it that the tough frontier governor from Alaska is too timid to answer questions from media at press conferences? So I ultimately managed to get hold of a ticket to the free Springsteen show/Obama rally that took place this past weekend. This story isn't just about the concert, it's about events prior to and after, so here's the story of how I spent my Saturday.
