I think I'm even more incoherent now than I was after the Raconteurs, but I can't sleep so I figured I'd do this while I'm still on that concert high. - Oh. My. God. If you haven't seen Broken Social Scene yet this year, do it. ASAP. Seriously. It's well worth the ticket price/gas money/plane ride. In fact, it pays dividends. - Land of Talk opened. WOW! Saw these guys last night and this was the best show I have seen come thru town in a while (I should qualify that I missed AIH late last year... damn weddings). The venue had technical difficulties and one of the band members (Kevin Drew) had a leg injury, but neither one slowed the show down at all.

The Cool Kids One thing Outside Lands seemed short of was some of the more rap and hip hop artists and electronic DJs selections. People have been asking me what I want for my birthday since I am turning the big 1-8 in a week (which is a total sham if you ask me, but that's another discussion). Things are getting quick messy in the blog world. Well, at least for blogger users. Over the past month and a half, many blogs have had their posts removed because of the music industry/RIAA/DMCA. Those are not friendly words eh?? Basically the music industry is deleting bloggers posts without talking to the bloggers because of songs that they feel they shouldn't have posted. This is Broken Social Scene, kicking ass and taking names while headlining at Guelph's hillside fest in '03 Even though Hillside had been around for 20 or so years at this point, this was the year that turned it from a well known festival, to a world renowned festival. It would have to be a pretty special band to get me out to the dreaded Sound Academy for the always dreaded all ages show. But when the band in question is Broken Social Scene (whom I haven't seen for about two years now,) well, one has to set aside his own personal beefs and put forth the effort to be there.
