Well, after previewing my list here a little while ago, I've finally finished my list of my 10 favorite albums of 2007.
If you want to see what made my list, check out the article, which is now up on BC Magazine.
In addition, there's extra content in the version I put up on my blog that begins where the BC Magazine version ends.... MORE
I'm not sure how I forgot this album on my 2007 list. I think I liked Sung Tongs more, but Strawberry Jam had 3 (or so) songs that I really got into.
I have to admit, both the Ween and Arcade Fire albums were filler on that list. Ween got a place based on loyalty, I didn't even steal the new album. Same deal with Arcade Fire, even though I haven't liked any of their full-length albums. I liked their first EP back in 2004 (which they're still pulling material from:... MORE
This was one of the most exciting years for music for me in a long time. It feels like we are on the threshold of something new, a new era. I can't put my finger on it, but the times are changing. It seems like music is finally being taken back from the corporations. Here is my list of top ten albums of 2007 with a slight bent towards psychedelic pop. I want to thank Radiohead for keeping true to their ethics as few big artists are willing to and a big thanks to Animal C... MORE
Well, I finally moved away from Hawaii, settling these weary bones here in Maryland. Better yet, though, is that I got my desktop back after our month-long separation.

Well, I'm back from a bit of a hiatus. This summer kept me extremely busy, but the release of the new Animal Collective album has prompted me to get back on my Mog.
Anyway, for the uninitiated Animal Collective is a strange beast. The number of members varies and the stage names of these members contains monikers such as Panda Bear and Geologist. Their music is weird beyond anything you've ever heard. I should mention now that I am a bit of a fanboy when it comes to them, a... MORE
The Baltimore-based Animal Collective released their new album Strawberry Jam today. They may not beat Kanye or 50 cent album sales, but everyone is raving about what a sweet album it is. Tonight they play in Minneapolis, then hop over to Seattle for the west coast leg of their tour. But, if you are in the UK, you will be next to get a sweet visit from the quartet. Once they finish their US travels with a NYC show on the 1st of October, they will take a bit of time off, t... MORE
I bought only one CD today and to my surprise, it wasn't Kanye or 50...
It was Animal Collective. Their new album, Strawberry Jam, also came out today.
How the hell did that happen?
Well, I started getting into Animal Collective last week and heard their new album. I'm really liking it and I decided to add that to the albums I was going to buy today (the others being Kanye and The Go! Team).
The store I work at is right next to Borders. On my lunch brea... MORE
