It can’t be easy when you’re hailed as the new someone-who’s-still-around. It bugs me as a listener - The View were the new Kooks who were the new Arctic Monkeys, all before the Monkeys had a second album out. And is ‘the new Winehouse’ really a compliment?

I feel like I need to add some cheer to this place after that last post. So here is the brand new video from Adele! The song is "Cold Shoulder" and the icy blue video creates a stark contrast to the warmth in Adele's voice:
She may not be the bad girl Amy is, but that voice! Yeeeow!
I also adore the bare drum breaks that accompany her words. A scrumptious song.

Today me and my dad cycled to the seafront, it's not too far and I'd been stuck in the house all day doing my dissertation and the current weather is that it rains like you would not believe in the morning then brightens up in the afternoon. After hours of flicking through books and writing plans out I decided I needed exercise and fast, all I seem to do is eat and work these days. This South London gal just had the release of her album '19' in the U.S. not too long ago. This song is the beautiful song that caught my attention and drew me to look further.

I wound up scoring a ticket from craigslist(THANKS) so I got to see her play 'acoustic' or stripped down as she called it with just a guitarist and keyboard player. She said she had a cold and was probably going to be a little wobbly, I thought she sounded great. I preferred the simple arrangements to some of the produced numbers on the album. I found out last night that Adele is playing Joe's Pub next week and of course its already sold out(Doesn't help that the venue is the size of my apartment and the bulk of the seats are going to the music depts at MTV and VH1)
Hopefully she'll swing back around very soon at a slightly larger venue.

Well, this week is up. I hope you guys enjoyed the stuff I was posting as much as I did. I tried to pick what I thought you all would like most, and this song is no exception. Adele has been touted as one of the "Next Big Things" for this year. Specifically, the next Amy Winehouse, as both share the same penchant for old-school soul.
