(part 2 of 7 - counting down the days until the Rothbury Festival begins)

6 Days!!!!  I feel like I should start packing now.  A little premature, I know, but I want to get my shit and head to the airport now.  I don't want to miss my flight.

Anyway, for this second installment, we're going to go with a band that I have been dying to see for a long, long time but never got the chance.  If this song is played, I can envision a sea of thousands of people just jumping up and down to the beat, maybe a pit forming at the front, and me knocking over people half my size completely by accident.  Being tall and over 200 lbs. will cause that to happen more often than you think.

Les Claypool may be one of the stranger people in the music industry, but he is also a fucking genius.  Not only has he had a successful career touring with his bands Primus, Oysterhead and The Frog Brigade, as well as solo touring, but he has also contributed his musical mind to several other artists including Metallica, Tom Waits, Limp Bizkit (if you call their music "art"), Gov't Mule (also going to be at Rothbury) and Jack Irons (of Pearl Jam notoriety).  And let's not forget his musical contributions to South Park and Robot Chicken.  Basically, the man is everywhere, and everything he touches turns to gold.

Random Fact:  Did you know that he named his home in California "Rancho Relaxo" after an episode of the Simpsons where Marge is sent to a spa of the same name?  Drop that one into conversation some time.

Les is a genius.  I've seen Primus, and The Frog Brigade a few times.  It's amazing!  Hope he brings out the Whamola for you, the sounds he makes with that thing is mesmerizing!

Friends and I were having drinks at a sidewalk cafe before a Frog Brigade show as the whole Brigade themselves walked by within a few feet, I couldn't speak.  Everyone at the table was pretty starstruck, we all just nodded and waved, regretting we didn't offer everyone of them a beer or something.  Have a great time!
