I admit Conor Oberst is a great song writer but sometimes I can only handle his music in short stints. The overwrought, shaky elements of his vocalizations can sometimes, in my opinion, border on the bleating of a sheep, therefore detracting from the enjoyment of many of his songs.
But then I heard "Lime Tree" off his new album Cassadaga.
I think I've listened to it a hundred times in the past few days and it still hasn't gone stale. It's a beautiful almost cinematic arrangement and Oberst's vocal restraint only makes it more rewarding. I hope he makes more like this.

youre right, its a beautiful song. especially in concert. just make sure you are nowhere near 13 year old girls screaming out i love you conor during the slower songs like this one. i almost had to strangle a few last time i saw him live.
