I would recommend that you do whatever it takes to get this CD. Especially if you are a fan of Iron & Wine. He has grown into a completely new artist. And if you aren't a fan already, you will be by the end of this album.

Personally, I don't think Sam can ever out-do the "Woman King" and "Our Endless Numbered Days" cd's ...
I was a little bummed the first time I heard "The Shepherd's Dog", but a majority of the songs have truly grown on me ... so I'll be fine when he plays the new stuff at his show in Dec.
his music is truly beautiful!

Woman Kind is also one of my personal favorites. The thing that impresses me about Shepherd's Dog is he basically took a musical U-Turn and experimented and expanded so much.
