I heard from one of my friends that The Postal Service is working on a new album and it should be out in the near future. He didn't know much else. Anyone have the answers to fill in the blanks. (I don't like going off of what my friend said)
these last few days ive been rediscovering some of my favorite bands/musicians. i dont know why, but ive been listening to them like its the first time ive ever heard them before. and im falling in love all over again. its great. it must be because ive been introduced to so much new music this year (thanks to you) that ive become distant to some of my favorite ear candy. people that know me, know that my favorite type of music is the kind that inspires me. those musics: ... I heart music!
(Honestly though I wonder how many people have titled their first post on MOG "First Post"?)
Other than that there isn't a whole lot to say right now.
Life is good. Winter break is here. I finally have time to work on my own music (go to virb.com/raintheory to have yourselves a listen).
It is snowing!

Boy, oh boy...have I been busy. Today ends Open Enrollment for health insurance and benefits (that sounds so exciting, doesn't it?), and I am absolutely wacked. I have been checking posts when I can, but mostly I have got my head down and getting things done. I just wanted to post a wee something to take my mind off of the number crunching and all that attention to detail and endless hours of patience which is required of me during this period. I am, by nature, not k... MORE
Well, I quit my job and I'm feeling confused and strange. I have been there for 2 1/2 years and it was my dream job but I made the decision it was not taking me to the places I wanted to go so I had to leave.
Sad moment in my life....
Hopefully my new job will take me to the great heights I need.
I can't say much besides that the Postal Service always does a wonderful job with covering songs. Watch the comparisons.

One of my favorite songs of all time has to be Brand New Colony. It's just spectacular. The imagery and the clever writing and catchy yet "smooth" tune, coupled with the great electronic music, really make this song a masterpiece. I think that it is often overshadowed by "Such Great Heights", and, while I love that song, I must confess that I enjoy this one more. First, it opens with a distinct series of notes. If the Mario Theme is genius because you only have to sing t... MORE
The first post of two celebrating being happy about a relationship. =D
This song is called "Be Still My Heart" and I think it's incredibly overlooked. It appeared on the We Will Become Silhouettes EP by The Postal Service.
I would go on and talk about all the lyrics and how they really are just... wow, but I don't want to spoil it for you. So give it a listen and see what you think.
Sunday's Are For .......
The Postal Service gives "such great heights" such a different feel than Iron and Wine does. It's originally by Iron and Wine. the lyrics are quite sad, which is the tone that Iron and Wine sings it in. But The Postal Service is known for its upbeat tempos, no one can stop ben gibbard and jimmy tamborello from making their amazing beats. Sad, slow songs that come their way won't phase them at all, give it to the postal service and VWALA! a whole new feel. i was watching o... MORE
