HELP!
I need some help with a mixtape. I'm looking for songs about nature or the environment. Lovesongs to Mother Earth, rants about its destruction, sarcastic asides that are still catchy lil ditties. Anything the MOG-verse can come up with, I'd like to hear them.
Thanks in advance good citizens of MOG-itopia.
P.S. - The only ones I can think of so far are Tegan & Sara's "Our Trees" and The Talking Heads' "Nothing But Flowers". There's a Neil Young song I'... MORE
The Talking Heads were my first introduction to Alternative/College Radio music. We were living in Laredo, Texas at the time and we had a friend of ours Juan from Detroit come and visit us. 2. The unexpected and somewhat unsettling country vibe on "Creatures of Love."
3. The lyrics for ... MORE
Why can you no longer find albums with songs like this in the punk section anymore?
Listen To The Talking Heads, smile, laugh, and just generally enjoy yourself. I'm in a great mood here lately and I demand you be as well.
Prepare for a little pile of happy songs over the next little while, probably.
(Unrelated sidenote I'll soon pick up on: The New Tokyo Police Club picks up around track number 4 and is, in fact, quite good)... MORE
Once, the Talking Heads made a movie. Not Stop Making Sense, the other one. The film. It was called True Stories, and took place in a very small Texas town rapidly being developed by businesses and commerce.
David Byrne and John Goodman play the leading roles; Goodman is a man who wants to find love, and David Byrne is a stranger in town, and also, everyone seems to know him. He tells us about the different kinds of highway drivers, and shares many different importan... MORE
