Gruff Rhys started out with his fab introduction "We're the Super Furry Animals!"...and introduced several songs with "this is a story about..." and then lovingly after each song the genuine, "Thank you very much!" The Super Furries offered up some delicious offerings from their latest CD Hey Venus! Stand outs for me were The Gift that Keeps Giving and Run Away. So...i am finally getting around to listening to the latest from Super Furry Animals which came out last year...and now
I am kicking myself for waiting so long.
The track I am including is so great. It has that wonderful retro sound(think Golden age Phil Spector) without sounding contrived or played out...not an easy thing to pull off.

Caught Super Furry Animals with Holy Fuck in Williamsburg, Brooklyn last night. As usual, SFA mostly played tracks off their recent record, switched guitars about a dozen times, and Gruff put on the giant red space helmet for a ROCKING version of "Receptacle for the Respectable." ..Super Furry Animals... You gotta love so much about this band... from kick butt pop tunes mixing every genre you can think of... to fantastic videos.... to an in-your-face attitude that says "Yes.
