Mission Of Burma are one of my top favorite bands, and one of the best bands I've seen live, but it took me a little while to get around to watching Not A Photograph. It documents the resurrection of Mission of Burma in 2002, as well as their birth and early days in the 1978-83 Boston.

Originally recorded by James Newell Osterberg, Jr and The Stooges for their album Fun House in 1970. It appears on side 2 first track. Between the original and the cover, I find it hard to decide which I like better. I myself don't have the original, maybe a kind soul will toss into comments. Props to dachmo for reminding me again how utterly cool Mission Of Burma really is. Enjoy!

_IMHO_ This is more of a love fest than a war ... but that's alright because I'm a lover not a fighter. :) In light of that, for this one I'm throwing the notion out the window that the artist has to have been a true punk pioneer ... this track is from a live show this year (couldn't find a video) and it rocks, so there!

Roger Miller, guitarist of the legendary Boston based, post-punk/no-wavers Mission Of Burma has posted a classified add offering guitar lessons via Craigslist.com. Miller formally studied piano, tuba and composition and was a major contributor of the song writing detail for Mission Of Burma. The group was originally formed in 1979, the early days of post punk.
