I've posted about my favorite moments of Lolla in my The Hold Steady but I have to post about the strangest band I caught there: I'm from Barcelona. I just listened to the new I'm From Barcelona song and thought it was quite good. They kept their same sound from their last CD. That's not a bad thing though... (I didn't feel like taking the time to rip it so I'm just going to post the MP3 player here.) Here is a tune from I'm From Barcelona's latest album, 'Let Me Introduce My Friends'...I love the fuzzy vocals and the 60's style music....a great summer song.
And I can dedicate it to one of my favorite moggers/music journalists out there...Jenny K! And as soon as she finds a song with BLAIR in the title, she can return the favor!

and as for this song, I felt the need to post one for this momentous ocassion..so this is my song of the day- my VERY stressful day, which made me feel better. It's a bit of a cheerer upper if you're looking for one.

The last couple weeks have found me alone in my bedroom a lot. My bedroom is both small and unspacious (deliciously redundant). Sometimes I get a little unhappy being in my bedroom for hours at a time. It is at these times that I hit play on the new I'm From Barcelona CD, Let Me Introduce My Friends. I couldn't take a holiday trip abroad this year due to money issues and work commitments but this song kept my spirits up. My vote for Happiest Song of 2006 comes from Scandinavian band 'I'm From Barcelona'

What a great song! One of those seemingly effortless pop moments that catch you on the first listen. Infectious, charming and wimpy. The rest of the album is pretty great as well.
