I was relieved to know that we wouldn't be sacrificed a concert after hearing that U.S. audiences lost out on the Cocorosie tour due to visa problems. I sincerely wish that those who bought tickets didn't have to miss out because this concert proved to be one of the best I have seen this year.

Uncut has just published new UK tour dates for CocoRosie. There still is no word on what happened that resulted in the sisters being arrested which led to the cancellation of their N.Am. tour. But UK fans will be treated to live performances of songs from their new album this June.

So I packed myself and the lady to go to the city of brotherly love full of love to see the sisters CocoRosie.
One last check of the digi-mail and alas the band was arrested no details but I assume some drugs deportation issue?
What does this mean? I am gutted. It is such lovely music. It's like winning the local coffee shop slogan contest everyday, that is to listen to the sisters two.

wow! This is THE year for cancelling tours! Like a bad fashion statement, the sisters of CocoRosie have cancelled all N.American dates! They sent out a my$pace bulletin that says the band got arrested(!), and now their schedule has been altered to reflect the cancellations. Montreal on May 15th remains on the schedule as does a free show in NYC on May 19th. Europe is untouched. Their label, Touch & Go does not have the news on their site yet, nor does the band's off... Hey, sorry to bug you all, but my friend and I were forced to miss the CocoRosie show at the Warsaw in Brooklyn. If any MOGgers have photos from that concert that they don't mind sharing (they're for the NYU newspaper) and I'm sure will get credit for, would you send them on to me. I had some good karma stored up at the local record store, even though I hadn't been in for months. I fell in love with CocoRosie this past week, and decided I needed some on vinyl. What do I find a few records into the bin? Noah's Ark.

Brooklyn based indie rock sisters Sierra and Bianca Casady have come back from seperate side projects to record a follow up to 2005's stellar 'Noah's Ark', to be released on Touch And Go records on April 10th. The sound that CocoRosie concoct is like a collage of several different styles, with elements of classical, dreamy pop, nu-folk, and even hip hop. On paper it is a musical trainwreck, but on record it is at times gorgeous and haunting, and never boring.
