Lovely list! Well, I was bound to say that since our numbers one and two are exactly alike. :P And more love for The Cinematics, yay! I do see I still have a couple of albums to check out though. ;)

I M*UST INSIST *Stephan that you check out the Delorentos... truly wondermous ;) & being that we are one in the same for the Editors/The National & The Cinematics, I am quite confident you will also turn the knob to 11 for this Irish band that are movin on up :)

Once again, thank you for making this list. I know there was a lot of pain involved (there always is), but I couldn't have dreamed of doing an aggregation of MOG's tastes without your input. Enjoy your day with Chase!

Great list lizzie! I'm glad Josh Ritter made it. He's a He-Man of songwriting. A true master of the written verse, as it were. And I also agree with you on the Ryan Adams. I felt like the ep and the album were so similar they shouldn't be separated. There are several on here that I never even got to, but I guess there's always next year! Maybe they will be some of The Program's B-Sides.

You are too funny Liz. It is painful to nail down a best of list. There's so many good ones, that's for sure. It looks like we only have a few in common: Smashing Pumpkins, TGTB&TQ & Arcade Fire, which is pretty amazing.

Ahh..lizzie..good stuff, although there are a few there I am unfamiliar with. I guess this means I have some research to do. Now just think..you can begin a whole new list for 2008! :)

when munich/bullets came along, it was like alright, beat that. then smokers/bones and especially weight of the world (my fave) up the ante and are just beautiful. period. as for the national, alligator was a great listen, especially karen. boxer is good, but i don't think as amped a follow up as an end....it is definitely moodier and more rainy - (fake empire), but i do love alligator a bit more...something to hear: the kooks, esp. naive/i want you. solid list. i am en route to discover delorentos and hope to love it. rms

This is what sucks about being young- I listened to a lot of albums this year, but few from 2007. I'm stuck playing catch-up with everyone else :)

rodney: will definitely look into being a little bit kookier ;) I totally dug alligator, but I am all about boxer... think it's probably because it is so moody/stormy :-} Bones/Weight blow the roof off the sucker... the more I listened to both Editors albums yesterday - the more I knew I made the right decision... going with the 2007 album was the right thing to do :)

Todd: Yeah... they were supposed to be rockin my top 10 for sure... don't know what I was drinkin/smokin on the job, but it sure wasn't Homme & that is just 99 different ways of wrong ;)

Josh: I am right there with you... age ain't nothin but a number & we all have catching up to do whether backwards or forwards - there's so much out there... we gots time & we gots MOG so I think we can prevail (Ultimately) :) I have faith... I feel like the family outcast ... no Editors, Arctic Monkeys or Cinematics anywhere in my top 10. I'm worried ...will you all still love me? Am I going to be disowned?
