So two bands keep coming up on my radar in the past week or so.
The Sounds and The Long Winters.
I just listened to some 30 second clips of each on iTunes and right now they both sound pretty goddamn good to me.
I have a gift voucher for HMV. I'm definitely buying something at the weekend. But what if I can only buy one?

see, i am not sure because i haven't listened to the sounds yet. i like the long winters though, they are pretty good. i heard them on npr last year and enjoyed their music as well as their musical history. here's that link: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=6417331

Cool, thanks for that link. I'm really not sure what to do - At the moment, Long Winters have the edge but I have to wonder if my decision will be made based on what's in stock on Saturday. I know that the Sounds are all over the damn place at the moment, but the Long Winters might turn out to be one of those bands that you just can't find over here. NB - I might not be giving my country enough credit - it's just that in past experience, finding music by bands that I like has often proved difficult.

I haven't heard the Sounds much either, but I am definitely a fan of Long Winters, mainly for his lyrical content. My fave is When I Pretend To Fall.
