Is anyone else completely obsessed with this song?
Sadly to admit i'm a new fan of Portishead (I'm on of the 'eliteist white people' who seem to grapple to the band, but no I don't read PASTE magazine), and am just learning of their stuff, old and new. But I can't stop spinning this tune. The strings, beats, mixing, vocals are so bloody amazing. I'd stretch to call this one an epic. wowwowowo.
the video is RAD RAD too. so timeless. This could be made today or 10 years ago, love it!

i hadn't seen that video before. that was purty goood. i can see how they're epic but i think they make me too sad, like a red wine-induced depression.

haha, I can see that... but not for me. The serious classic quality overtakes for me. Like listening to Radiohead or Sigur Rós. Easy on the vino BF.
But this video is a classic!!! One of the best i've seen in ages. The fact that the tune, and vid can keep a super ADD person like me glued to the screen with just floating imagery in a back alley does it for me!
Oh , of course... I just looked it up. Chris Cunningham. DURRRRRRRRRR.

totally durrrr. don't you own his music video dvd?

No, I always thought it was too... dark to buy. I was more into Micheal Gondry and Spike. Tho you know how I feel about spike.
I think I might be ready to buy it now.

hmm yeah pretty dark for you. the only other video by him that i can name off the top of my head is Aphex Twin "Come to Daddy" ...but i believe there may be some dark, back alleys in that one for ya.
