MOG MOG

WHERE MUSIC IS WORTH MORE THAN MONEY

Yup, it's official:

I've yet to decide if I am going to go. I'm checking out the bands that will be there and I'm really digging Animal Collective. Holy shit, they are making some fascinating tuneage! Check out the song above and this vid of them live at the Midi Festival on the French Riviera '07 playing "Leaf House":

I really want to see Portishead, The Breeders, Love & Rockets, Spiritualized, Justice, Autolux, Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks & Dan le Sac vs. Scroobius Pip to name a few.

I'm just not WOWed by the lineup though, which is what is holding me back. Jack f'n Johnson a headliner? Roger Waters doing the "Dark Side of The Moon" album? BIG DEAL, I could care less! I've not been a Pink Floyd fan at all.

So I have till friday morn at 10:00 am when tix go on sale to check out the smaller bands that I don't know about. Here's the Coachella site link that has all the links to the various bands myspace sites, so this will make it really easy to check em all out.

Looking good. Portishead are well worth a look although if they only play their new stuff it could get a bit rowdy. No news on Reading yet but it's not until August; rummer has it that 3 American bands will be headlining....

The Verve and MMJ? Oh yeah, it just sucks that it is at a terrible time for me workwise. Oh well.

Neil who was talking about Reading? That's WORLDS away, lol. I highly doubt Phead will just play their new stuff, although that would be fine by me.

Sam I just listened to the Justice album last week which is pretty good. And I had no idea who Mum was until I listened to Goldfrapp's remix cd & they do 2 remixes on it. Haven't heard any Jens but have read about him in Spin Mag, I know nothing about Chromeo, but have heard of Devotchka & I think I've heard you blog about Hot Chip .

Mike The Verve I have little interest in & know next to nothing about MMJ . That's a drag Coachella is at a bad time for you workwise!

Traveling between January and April is really tough for me. :( At least I can count on doing whatever I want May to August. Sept - December are busy but manageable.

I will make it to one of these big festivals one of these days. Hopefully the Monolith festival in Sept.

Where's the Monolith Fest?

Well the miscreants are another reason I'm holding back, lol. I don't want to be warped by you sickos! No, actually I knew you all will be there, which will make it all the more fun. The lineup just is underwhelming compared to previous years. It just figures the year I'm seriously considering going is the underachiever, heh.

August! You are considering going and the _lineup_ is what you are basing this choice on? What about your MOG brethren? There will be a motley crew of miscreants collected there for fun and games and music and you'd fit right in, I just know you would. Join Blair, Dale, Henry, Lizzie, me and others. Come on! _you know you want to...._

Raconteurs = jack white & (cincinnati's) Greenhorne's

that is cool that they are billed so high - surprising as well

Red Rocks huh? I've been there but not seen any music there, which I must rectify someday. Gorgeous venue for it.

Amiel Raconteurs= Jack White & Greenhornes? Wow, I woulda never known, especially since the bands pics have been plastered all over the music media when they first came out, lolol.

Holy fuck.. if only I had the chance to be there.

"I've yet to decide if I am going to go." You don't have a freakin' ocean in between, for chrissakes! GO, NOW!! Do it for me, and enjoy for both of us :-P

Jeff . . .you resemble someone who used to come around here, lol.

Andrea I'm still deciding. I guess you aren't aware of the numerous huge names that have played at Coachella in past years. This year is so mundane in comparison.

Sam why don't you go, since you're way into Rogue Wave. I'm not that into 'em, sorry.

That's too bad you can't go since there's a bunch of moggers going.

Did you get the Peter Gabriel dvd at the library? Cool they had Patrick Wolf, love that album. My last trip to the library I picked up The Ponys' newest which is pretty rockin'.
